Ellie Weakley's spontaneous flair as a plein aire enthusiast
has given her the inspiration to travel worldwide; capturing images of
landscapes, cultural architecture and the individuality of the human spirit.
Her
trademark is a colorful transition between subjects that allows her paintings
to group naturally in a room or together
on a single wall.
A graduate of the University of Colorado, Ellie began her
career as a teacher and continued her studies with a number professional
artists; including, watercolor artists Charles Reid and Lowell Ellsworth
Smith and close friend and oil color artist Richard Schmid.
Ellie
has been a principal instructor at many workshops throughout the United
States, Mexico and Europe, but dedicates most of her time to working on
her paintings on location or from her lakefront studio in Colorado.
"I
love every part of the art process, I enjoy painting on location and making
new friends around the world. Being able to paint everyday is a gift that
I am thankful for."
